Make the observation identifiable when it returns to the office.

Build a phone journey for specific field records, supported devices and an explicit review stage.

Define the unit of field work

For an illustrative Norwegian facilities team, several people may inspect different parts of the same site. A photograph without a location reference or an identified inspection can become difficult to use later. A mobile tool should preserve the observation's meaning before adding more upload features.

We design a defined journey for selecting the approved asset or area, recording the necessary observation and returning it for review. An installed application is chosen when its capabilities justify the operating cost; a mobile website may be sufficient.

Distinguish device storage from a shared record

If approved offline work is needed, show whether information remains on the device or has reached the receiving system. Android's offline-first guidance describes the underlying data reconciliation problem. It does not make all proposed functions automatically available without connectivity.

Agree permissions, device replacement and the handling of images. A recording feature does not establish permission to photograph people or sensitive material, or provide an on-site safety procedure.

Review an observation against an older plan

Use synthetic work to test a person recording against a superseded site reference. Can the receiving reviewer identify the mismatch and ask for clarification? Check the supported phones, declined permissions and interrupted transfer.

The handover names the staff owner and recovery route. The useful result is a record the reviewer can interpret, rather than a photo gallery detached from the actual work.
